Early Years information

At St Michael's Primary School we have an Early Years Unit which includes 2 Year olds, Nursery and Reception children.

Our Little GemsTwo Year old provision
Our two year old provision has been a new development for our school. Little Gems is led by one of our most experienced members of Early Years staff. It offers both funded and paid places for children.
Children are able to join our provision the term following their second birthday so we are able to accept children at various points during the academic year, September, January and after Easter (dependent on date of birth).

Little Gems operates morning sessions Monday - Friday. The times are as follows:

Little Gems hours:

Morning session: 8.45am - 11.45am

Our Ruby Class (Nursery).

Our 26 place Nursery welcomes 3 and 4 year old children into our school. Children usually join Nursery the term after their third birthday.

We have three intakes of Nursery children during the academic year: September, January and an intake following the Easter holidays (dependent on the date of birth of your child).

Nursery hours:

Morning session: 8.45 am- 11.45 am

Nursery children are able to access 15 hours fully funded  learning during the week. This can be accessed on a flexible basis with parents choosing sessions to suit their needs.

Our Topaz Class (Reception and Year 1).

Reception children are full time within the unit.

Reception hours:

Reception attend school from 8.45 am – 3.15 pm alongside the rest of the school.
